Hindecoderz provides a free tool to decode boat Hull Identification Numbers (HINs) and to check U.S. Coast Guard recall records by manufacturer. This is a lookup and reference tool, not a substitute for a professional marine survey, a title search, or direct confirmation from the U.S. Coast Guard or a manufacturer.
We source recall data from public U.S. Coast Guard records and decode HINs using the standard federal HIN format. We do our best to keep this accurate and current, but we do not guarantee completeness or accuracy, and we do not warrant that the Site will be error-free or continuously available. A recall listing on this Site is a reason to investigate further — it is never a substitute for confirming a specific boat's status directly with the manufacturer, a dealer, or the U.S. Coast Guard.
Some pages and results on this Site contain affiliate links — for example, links to Boat-Alert.com's paid history report and to third-party boating-licence course providers. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. This does not affect the free tools on this Site, which remain free.
